You're a talented Data Engineer who likes a challenge. From the implementation of ETL/ELT pipelines into critical infrastructure, all the way through to harnessing streaming data for digital service needs; the opportunity to develop, learn and create is here. Required qualifications to be successful in this role

We're looking for great people to join a great culture. We don't expect everyone to have all of the skills below, but you're the type of person who has the ability to get there quickly:

- BS/BA/Masters in STEM background
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages, namely Python, Spark, PySpark, Scala. Solid level of SQL
- Can work across one or more of the common cloud environments Azure/AWS/GCP with a good understanding of DataBricks
- Experience with noSQL database technologies like MongoDB, Cassandra, neo4j etc.
- Experience of visualisation tools such as, PowerBI, Tableau etc.
- API implementation and management skills using cloud native tools or WS02, Apigee.
- Streaming frameworks like Kafka
- Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices across Data Engineering field and awareness of where this discipline relates and adds value to other business domain areas
- Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
- Passionate about building an innovative culture
- Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance, and software improvement
- Ability to see the road ahead and design reusable code

The northwest hub Key Digital Programs (KDP) and Data team is responsible for the development of a wide array of data structures, data consumption algorithms and reporting for internal business customers (KDP teams, Data CoE and Regional BI team).

Your unique contribution

You will have five main areas of responsibility:

You will be responsible for developing and supporting data pipelines, data structures, data models and associated ETL to provide data to business customers in an efficient/optimized manner
You will also be responsible for building the data pulls back from these business customers and developing data models to be utilized in Microsoft Reporting Platform (PowerBI, Analysis Services) or comparable BI tool.

Understand and translate business needs:

Understand business issues and translate these into technical needs
Define and prioritize the pipeline implementation plan
Build and maintain data pipelines:
Gather and organize large and complex data assets
Partner with Data Stewart and Data Governance/Management to design pipelines relevant for data hubs
Develop and maintain stable data pipelines
Ensure that your pipelines are consistent with the "business customers" technical recommendations

Build technical solutions aligned with the "business customers" strategy:

Partner with Data Architect to design technical solutions
Ensure the quality of the data in the data hubs with Data the Stewart by using existing assets
Work closely with the Software Engineer and the Data Architect to re-use existing assets
Locate and define new process improvement opportunities around data management

Project Management:

Manage IT projects and deliver solutions on time, on budget and on scope, respecting quality standards
Monitor project progress and produce project reporting
Responsible to transition the Support team the new solutions implemented

IT Solutions Advisory:

Bring assistance to affiliates, maintaining strong relationships with local teams, identifying and sharing best practices through expert missions
Continually researching current and emerging data technologies and proposing changes where needed

Vendor Management:

Manage and evaluate vendors in order to ensure continuous improvement

Internally, you'll work with the Business Relationship Manager, IT Center of Excellence and Key Business Users.

Externally, your contacts will be vendors.

Your blend of talent

Have experience in an IT team as Data Engineer with experience in data manipulation.
Has experience working within or across relevant functional areas: (i.e. Sales & Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain)
Can coordinate multiple stakeholders to define needs, batches and deliverables of your projects
Are an expert in data transformation methods (illustrative); structure and unstructured database technologies and concept; coding optimization.
Have familiarity with a broad base of technical tools (illustrative)
